MS Silverlight on FF
Jun 26, 2009
Ok... I know I have not posted in a while and I am fairly sure no one cares and this is just here for me at this point, but I wanted to ask in case someone, anyone, was reading... Are you as surprised as me that Silverlight runs on FF? I never saw it coming... I think Microsoft made a smart move here. I thought they were gonna make it only work on IE7 and 8... Nice work MS... You have surprised me...

Well, I think that Microsoft is going to receive a number of challenges in the near future. For a very long time, the name and company Microsoft has dominated the software market (Local, Web, Etc). However the growing interest in the open-source community has given MS a bit of a run. Especially now that companies of the substance like Google have pushed to support the open-source community. (Google Wave, Google Chrome, Chrome OS, Android). These products all directly compete with software produced by MS. If MS is going to maintain a grip on market share I think that they need to be more proactive. The move to allow Silverlight to run on Firefox I think makes solid business sense. I just hope that MS beings using that type of sense across their entire business model. Cheers
